Konstancin – The favourite place of the most affluent Poles
Konstancin is a town just out of Warsaw that has become the district of choice for wealthy Poles. The area abounds in beautiful villas, impressive houses or even quasi-palaces. One of such properties is now available in the offer of my company Crystal House. This is why today’s post will be all about the town and the property in question.
A bit of history
Konstancin is a town just outside Warsaw that had practically always been the home of wealthy people. The area, rich in forests and located close to Warsaw has always been attracting the Warsaw elite circles owing to its exceptional climate and wellness and spa facilities. Initially, in the 19thcentury, the town was developed primarily with summer houses, but year-round homes were soon erected as well. At the turn of the 19thand 20thcenturies, many impressive buildings designed by leading architects were built there. In the inter-war period, the town was advertised as the perfect venue for the elite art and culture milieu.
The period after WWII brought about a downfall of Konstancin. The beautiful villas were appropriated by the state and taken away from their owners or heirs and designated as municipal housing. The new residents did not take care of the buildings hence the beautiful buildings soon became derelict.
In view of the quite poor access to Konstancin, for years the town was considered an undesirable place to live. This conviction only changed after the regime transformation when the town became trendy again. The construction boom of the early 21stcentury took the market by storm, in Konstancin too, and the town became once more a synonym of luxury and sophistication. Well-known people who have made Konstancin their home include the Kulczuk family, Jerzy Starak, Ryszard Krauze and Mariusz Walter.
Today, Konstancin is considered to be one of the best addressed in Warsaw.
