Salone del Mobile in Milan: The most beautiful furniture
I have written more than one post about furniture but last week I had the opportunity to visit the furniture fair in Milan for the first time. Salone del Mobile is one of the most important furniture fairs in the world where the manufacturers of the most beautiful furniture from all over the world showcase their products. This is why today’s post features a photographic coverage of the event.
What was this year’s fair like? What are the prevailing trends? Well, it is hard to give just one answer to these questions. Designers from all over the world displayed their products at the fair and the geographical references were certainly important, to be honest I have not observed any strict division into e.g. Swedish or Italian style furniture. What I saw in Milan was simply beautiful, contemporary furniture which is aimed at creating cosy, warm interiors. Let me just add that this is all comfortable and luxurious, and, at the same time, functional furniture made from natural wood and noble fabrics.
My favourite exhibits were the pieces of furniture by the brands Visionnaire, Longhi, Poltrona Frau and Jumbo Group (especially Gianfranco Ferre, Roberto Cavalli and Etro). I was also quite impressed by the Shake Design woodworks which makes luxury custom-made furniture. I also found fountains and stairs by iDOGI and lighting by Paolo Castelli particularly interesting.
Keep track of new posts on the blog as I am working on articles about each of the brands mentioned above.
