Longhi Furniture – amazing diversity

I saw many beautiful furniture in Milan but Longhi furniture is what I like best. This Italian brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and this post is dedicated to it.

Longhi is based in northern Italy, in the town of Meda, north of Milan. Italy is famous for high-end crafts, especially when it comes to processing materials such as leather, marble, glass or wood, which is one of the keys to the success of furniture marked with the Made in Italy marking.

The first Longhi factory was established in later 1940s. Luxury furniture for everyday use is made here by the second generation of carpentry masters. In fact the entire region is famous for manufacturing beautiful furniture, designed and made by the best artisans. Initially, Longhi only made wooden tables. Today, the assortment of products covers literally every type of furniture there is, each designed by top designers and made with utmost care and attention to detail.

The diversity of the offering is one of the features that make Longhi stand out from the competition. Tables, chairs, beds, bookshelves, lamps, carpets, doors and terrace furniture– whatever the client may need, Longhi has it. Every Longhi product is handcrafter and is often made to measure, as per the client’s request. Owing to this, each set of furniture can be adjusted to the individual interior. Such freedom of choice and the option to adjust the products is for Longhi synonymous with luxury.

The most well-known Longhi furniture is the Eldam chair designed by Joe Colombo in 1963. The exterior structure is made from glass fibre and the seat is upholstered with leather. When the chair was launched on the market, it was considered as a very futuristic piece of furniture. Years later, the design still enchants, both in terms of design, elegance and craftsmanship.
