5 luxury hotels outside Warsaw

My work requires me to travel a lot around Poland, which means that I often sleep away from home. I have stayed in many hotels, but I can count the ones that have impressed me the most on the fingers of one hand. And it is these exceptional and luxurious hotels that I will tell you about today. This is not a ranking, but a list, so the order is basically random.

Hotel Marina Club

Situated on the banks of the picturesque Warmian lake Wulpińskie, the Marina Club Hotel offers 120 comfortable rooms overlooking the lake, as well as a spa area, a business and conference centre, two restaurants and a bar, and a helipad. The setting of the beautiful Warmian countryside completes the whole. It is also close to the capital of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn. I was particularly impressed by the sophisticated modern interiors and the proximity of water and water attractions.

Hotel Arłamów

Arłamów is in a class of its own, but also an important place from the point of view of Polish history. It was here, in the Residence (an external building connected to the main hotel complex by a tunnel) that Lech Wałęsa was interned for six months during martial law. Today, the Arłamów Hotel is a four-star facility with a modern spa zone and business centre, beautifully located near the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Sofitel Grand Sopot

In my hometown of Tricity, definitely the most famous five-star hotel. Built in the 20s of the previous century, from the very beginning it was an exceptional facility, attracting the most demanding guests. After the renovation carried out at the beginning of the 21st century it became one of the most luxurious hotel facilities in Poland. Today Sofitel Grand Sopot offers rooms and suites, a spa and a business area, but above all a piece of history.

GrandHotel Tiffy Iława

Iława is a small town, which most of you probably associate with the railway route to Gdańsk (Pendolino has been running here recently). However, it is here, in this small town of the Iława Lake District, on the shore of Jeziorak Lake, that the five-star GrandHotel Tiffy is located. Guests have 155 rooms at their disposal, a kitchen serving Italian and Thai dishes, Tiffi Spa Dharma with professionals from Tibet, India and Bali, and a modern conference centre. The hotel’s interiors are decorated with works by Wojciech Fangor.

Heron Live Hotel

Finally, a five-star facility of a friend of mine, located in the Malopolska town of Sienna. Like most top hotels, the Heron has beautifully decorated interiors, but what particularly draws me to this place is the surrounding nature and excellent restaurants. It’s also a great location for family parties and business meetings.
