The new Lamborghini Countach hits the showrooms!
The long-awaited Lamborghini Countach has finally been shown by the producers and it is really good!
Every time one of the car manufacturers reinterprets an iconic model, I am very interested in the outcome. It was no different in the case of the Lamborghini Countach, a model that has been talked about for some time. A few days ago it turned out that it was not unfounded – during Monterey Car Week in California, Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 was shown, and the return of the legend has become a fact.
Stylistic references
Before I go on to describe the possibilities of the new car, I will briefly describe how the designers referred to the original Countach from the 70s. One note here: for the first time in history, Lamborghini has decided to use the name it had used before. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the Countach has the status of an icon among supercars. And – as you will see in a moment – this reference has its justification.
The new Countach – just like its predecessor – has rectangular level headlights, quad exhaust and side air intakes typical of this model. There are also aggressive lines known from other models, which Lamborghini introduced for the first time in the Countach from the 70s.
The rims are also eye-catching – 20-inch at the front and 21-inch at the rear. The factory tires are Pirelli P Zero Corsa. The incredibly efficient carbon-ceramic brakes are responsible for the quick stopping of this supercar.
Last but not least, the happy owners of the new Countach – and there will only be 112 of them, because only so many pieces will be made – will be able to choose the body colour not only from the range of new colours, but also from the original model’s colours. Interestingly, the number 112 is a reference to the factory Countach code from the design period.
What’s under the hood?
There has been much speculation as to what unit will power the new car. Now we know everything: just like in the Sian model, under the Countach’s hood there is a 6.5-liter V12 generating 780 hp and a 34-hp electric motor. It is therefore a soft hybrid.
In total, the car weighing just over 1.5 tons has as much as 814 KM to use, which in the hands of an efficient driver allows him/her to accelerate to 60 miles in 2.8 seconds. Max speed is 355 km/h.
The interior
There are no surprises in the interior, it is typical for modern Lambos: so we have high-quality red leather, carbon fiber, large and ergonomic screens and clocks.
The price for the car has not yet been disclosed, but all cars have reportedly been sold. The first lucky ones will be able to enjoy them in early 2022.
