The new Aston Martin Vantage: What we love about it and a folding convertible roof
February may be the middle of winter but this year, the season has been not been too harsh on us. It seems that spring will come any day and not any week now, despite the current date on the calendar. And since spring is right around the corner, it is high time the latest convertible models were unveiled. Today I want to tell you more about the Aston Martina Vantage which premiered a few days ago.
Aston Martin Vantage is a typical roadster. Dynamic body, the double turbo-charged V8 engine which offers excellent performance and the elegant interior make it one of the prettiest cars on the market and the car is also a full-fledged sports car. However, the new roadster has got a new feature – a folding convertible roof.
What does it hide under the bonnet?
As I said, the Vantage is fitted with the double turbo-charged V8 4 l engine. It has a power of 503 KM, and 685 Nm torque. The car has a rear-wheel drive and it owes the smoothness of the driving to the eight-gear ZF box. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and its maximum speed is 306 km/h!
The qeuickest folding root ever
The folding roof mechanism of this new model is definitely one of its merits. Although the “Z-Fold” makes the entire car heavier by some 60 kg, it unfolds or folds the roof in a matter of seconds. To be precise the roof is raised in 6.7 s and folded in 6.8 seconds while driving at the maximum speed of 50 km/h.
The price tag of the car starts at USD 161,000. The first clients will pick up their cars in the third quarter of this year.
