I love great cuisine and I am very happy about any initiatives aimed at promoting good food. This is why I am definitely going to attend the “Eat and Drink, Warsaw” festival – the largest culinary event of the year, showcasing the history, tradition, culture of food and the latest culinary trends in Warsaw.

The “Eat and Drink, Warsaw” festival is a nod towards the legendary
“Cooking and Food Exhibition” that took place in 1902
, when Warsaw became one of the places to celebrate the culinary art in Europe. The contemporary festival organisers’ ambitions are to showcase how culinary trends and preferences have changed over time.

Festival attendees will learn about classic Warsaw bars and eateries of the 1920s and 1930s. Bartosz Węglarczyk and his guests invite everyone to Talk of the Champions about the food of the Polish People’s Republic which will abound in interesting stories and anecdotes of the past era.

The EAT and DRINK section of the festival will be divided into themed zones: “Bon appetit!”, “Cheers!”, “Bread and Wine” hosted by Robert Makłowicz, “Culinary Warsaw” hosted by Paweł Deląg and the Kukbuk magazine, “Restaurants and Live cooking”, “Knowledge Zone”, and “VEGGIE WAWA”. Each of the zones will offer different attractions. Visitors will be able to try food made on the spot and purchase regional and seasonal produce. There will also be opportunities to attend cooking workshops, talks and presentations.

The brains behind the festival is a dear friend of mine Piotr Popiński, renowned Warsaw restaurateur, advocate of Polish culinary history, tradition and culture, and owner of the Elixir by Dom Wódki, Folk Gospoda, Czerwony Wieprz and The Roots Bar & More restaurants. The event is organised by Eat & Drink Poland, in collaboration with the Grupa Restauracyjna Good Food Concept, Management Board of the Palace of Culture and Sciences and the King Jan III Palace Museum in Wilanów. The event is held under the auspices of the Mayor of Warsaw.

The festival programme can be found here, and you can bury tickets online at ebilet.pl. See you there!
