ACH130 Aston Martin: A Chopper for 007
We all know that Agent 007 loves fast cars by the Aston Martin make. The British make has been supplying James Bond with its best, fastest and most luxurious cars for years. However, recently Aston Martin has been making its way into industries that he had never before tried its luck in. One of the products of a recent collaboration is the ACH130 Aston Martin helicopter. It is very luxurious, needless to say.
The aircraft itself is the serial ACH130 chopper. But the devil is in the detail and those were the job of the British car make. The ACH130 Aston Martin was evidently inspired by the automotive design style. The core similarity with cars are best seen inside the helicopter – it really makes you feel as if you were inside a luxurious passenger vehicle. This is the impression you get even though some of the apparatus has not been changed to adhere to aviation reasons.
Prospects have four different finishing versions to choose from and they mainly differ in the colour scheme (Xenon Grey, Arizona Bronze, Ultramarine Black and Stirling Green), interior décor elements and the body details. The leather upholstery inside is exactly the same as in the Valkyrie model and a unique serial number is embossed on the rotor cover.
You may wonder about the reasons behind this move – why would an established automotive make venture into an unknown territory? The answer is simple – that is where its clients are. Rich, hungry for luxury and in need of a fast means of transport that will quickly take them from point A to point B in a stylish way. In the era of ever-present traffic, even an Aston Martin might not get you to your destination in time. But a helicopter certainly will.
The price tag of the shopper? Unknown as yet. A regular, serial version of the aircraft sells for approx. GBP 2.4 million. My guess is that an Aston Martin limited edition will cost more than that.
