My Hungarian Ferrari adventure

Ferrari Esperienza is an invitation-only experience for Ferrari clients and prospects. Some time ago I had the opportunity to participate in an event of this kind held on Hungaroring.

Not many other makes can unleash as many emotions as the Italian legendary Ferrari. These beautiful and fast cars trigger the imagination of all car automotive aficionados all over the world. I certainly am one of them and recently have had the opportunity to take part in a meeting for existing and future happy owners of Ferrari cars. I could test Ferraris all day long on the Hungaroring race track.

Ferrari Esperienza offers the opportunity of testing selected models on the race track or in the streets designated by the organiser of the event. In my case, the entire experience was held at the Hungaroring race track. At the beginning of the event, all participants watched a presentation of the models we would be driving, of their technical specification and performance. Two models were available for testing that day: the Ferrari 488 GTB and the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

Ferrari 488 GTB is a model which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. The sports car is a true speeding demon – it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and is capable of driving at its maximum speed, i.e. – 330 km/h – in 8.3 seconds. The car is powered by a nearly 4-litre four-stroke engine with 670 bhp. The buyer can choose between 25 colours but the car I tested was red, needless to say.

As for the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, it is a two-seat model which premiered in Geneva too, only three years earlier than the 488 GTB. It is the second most powerful car of the Maranello make that can be driven in cities. The Berlinetta was one of the most technologically advanced cars of its time: 12 different aluminium alloys were used in the chassis and the aerodynamic solutions applied improved the downforce to 123 kg. The model is equipped with a 6.3-litre engine producing up to 720 bhp. Its maximum speed? 350 km/h and it needs just 3.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

Another Ferrari model available on the track, apart from the ones I was able to test, was the FXXK which is not street-legal. This is a veritable mechanical beast – the combined power of an ICE and electric systems produces over 1000 PS with an 6.3-litre engine.
